E-Newsletters: Who Can Use Them?
This is the first installment of a series of blogs about e-newsletters. I’ll share tidbits I’ve found over the past eight years to help you get started with this economical means of promoting your business or organization via the web and driving traffic to your website.
The average return on investment for e-newsletters was $44 for every dollar spent in 2013. And this is the average out of all e-newsletters!
Just about any business or organization, artist or professional can benefit from having an enewsletter. If you have ever had to explain anything to anyone pertaining to your business, you have educational material for a newsletter.
Here are some examples:
- An artist or arts organization may wish to inform friends and fans of upcoming events, or even just share something fun to look at, displaying artwork periodically in their newsletters.
- A municipality may have an upcoming events newsletter and may send out council meeting minutes to subscribers.
- A restaurant can advertise food specials–any type of B to C business that is involved in food and entertainment does well to inform people of specials via newsletters.
- Our own business, Lakenetwork.net: As a website design company, there’s much we educate our customers and prospects on – the whole domain of web use, design and promotion.
This year I had the honor of giving a presentation on e-newsletters to a group of professionals and small business owners at Lake Kids Biz and the Lake County Minority Business Exchange. Stay tuned… I’ll be presenting at some libraries and other community venues in Northeast Ohio this year. If you would like me to present at your organization in northeast Ohio, I’ll be glad to. Please contact me online or at 440-975-9580.
Your newsletter can be as simple as one or two paragraphs or as complex as many articles and links that go back to your website for more details. Start thinking now about the information you want to convey, and we’ll touch base with you again next month.
